 If you're in Anchorage, come to Nerd Nite #9 where I'll be presenting Screenwriting Tips From Someone Who's Only Okay At It, Or: 10 Tips For Creating Characters People Hopefully Care About. Other presenters will be talking about artificial intelligence and the power of networking. If you don't know what Nerd Nite is, it's a monthly event held in 90 cities around the world. It's kind of like TED Talks, but with alcohol! Check out the Events page for details.
Over the past few weeks, I've had the pleasure of running the 24-Hour Film Royal with some of my favorite filmmaking peers. During the event proper, we visited most of the teams at the various stages of production and filmed a behind-the-scenes documentary. The result became a thank you to the participants, and a love letter to the local filmmaking community.
